History:

In antiquity, Scorpius occupied two signs, and the front part of the scorpion was denominated by "The Claws", that today is known as the gamma star of Libra. According to Babylonian mythology, Scorpius was the guardian of the darkness and of the light. This sign has been identified with the Snake of Paradise and also, with the Feathered Snake of the Aztec zodiac. As well, Scorpius has been related with the "Ave Phoenix", for his great recuperative ability and his power of survival.

Asclepio, was the first medical surgeon that accompanied to the Argonauts and when he healed to sick and wounded with such effectiveness, it generated a significant decline of emigrants to the hell. Therefore, Pluto convinced Zeus that threw a thunder to Asclepio and put him in the constellation of Ophiuchus.
